Dog Friendly Japan: Kawaguchiko Country Cottage Ban

As you probably already saw on my Instagram, we recently traveled from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko for a much needed weekend getaway!

I love to travel with Drogo, my dog, everywhere I go. I’m kinda proud of saying that he’s been in a lot of countries so far, from Spain, to the Czech Republic, UK, France, Germany… and now obviously Japan.

Japan is not very dog-friendly in terms of travelling, which makes Kawaguchiko Country Cottage Ban even more special! This beautiful cottage, close to the Kawaguchi lake, welcomes pets and it honestly proved to be an amazing home away from home. We were invited to stay in one of their cozy cabins with views to the lake, and we enjoyed everything about the experience!

Drogo had tons of space and loved all the greenery around him, while The Hoosband and I had our relaxing night enjoying nature’s sounds and sleeping on a fluffy futon (there were beds available too!). The kitchen had everything you might need and  there was a huge bathtub plus two separate toilets. Most importantly, everything was spotless clean, despite being such a big cabin.

There are different accommodation options for everyone. It is an ideal choice for groups and families, but also a great option for couples. I often joke about renting another cabin for a month this summer to go finish write my book.

Ahem. “Joke“.

As always, thank you for reading and hope you enjoy my pictures!
